Nrithyakshetra Dance Academy Canada (NDAC) was founded by Ms. Meera Kanageswaran in October 2006 with the guidance of her Gurus Madurai R. Muralidhan and Chithra Muralidharan, and subsequently became an authorized centre for the Alagappa Performing Arts Academy in November 2006.Confidance bharatham as the name for the school is now added to emphasize the vision to create and nurture confidence in our students through dance training. In class students are given many exercises and projects that help increase self confidence.

Confidance bharatham is committed to training students in traditional Bharathanatyam along with giving the opportunity to perform in contemporary choreographies. Importance is given to “Nrithya” (expressional dance) in the classes as it is a unique feature and unfortunately not given as much importance in present-day Bharathanatyam.

Confidance bharatham students have had the opportunity to perform in various shows across the GTA. Thus far, seventeen students have completed their salangai poojas and are extensively giving group and solo performances. They have also had the opportunity to learn from Guru Madurai R. Muralidharan and Smt. Chithra Muralidharan. In 2015 Shri. Binesh Mahadevan was invited to present the dance drama “Nala Charitham” with the students of confidance.
